San Francisco

So it's pretty obvious I was up north this past weekend. Sophy and I took the scenic route up the coast, stopping at Hearst Castle, Nepenthe (restaurant), Monterey Bay Aquarium, and finally getting to San Francisco. On Saturday, we woke up early to take a tour of Alcatraz, and on Saturday night we ate at this great restaurant in Little Italy called E' Tutto Qua. Then on Sunday, Sophy ran her marathon and did a good job!

The Rock

One of my favorite stops this weekend.....A short boat trip to Alcatraz where we'd get to tour the prison, accompanied by a very well done audio tour.

Puzzle - Day 7

So I put day 7 and if you count from my first post, it's been more than 7 days, but there were a couple days when I didn't get to work on the puzzle.

Sophy helped out a lot today, and you can see by the progress that she did a lot.

All we have left to do is the solid part at the top which is probably the toughest, it's just trial and error...

But it's crazy that we're almost done with this puzzle!

Sophy's cooking

Sophy experimented with some cooking today and it came out really good...The Garlic shrimp served as the appetizer, accompanied by some chili garlic oil thing haha which was really good...She also made Pasta Caprese along with some Sundried Tomato flat bread which turned out to be really good as well. And finally, some garlicky fries that she thought were a little burnt, but you know, that just made it better in my eyes. The only thing I didn't like was the fresh Mozzarella in the pasta caprese, but other than that, everything was exactly the type of thing I enjoy. Got some bread, some light pasta with tomatoes, and some fries haha....

Halloween at Disneyland

Space Mountain wasn't as dark as usual, a little more fog than just being pitch black, kinda cool though....Haunted Mansion as u can see here was decorated differently on the outside and inside was completely different. The fireworks show was also really good!

Vincent Hill Station Restaurant & Saloon

Just off Sierra Hwy, near the Vincent Grade train station is a nice homely restaurant that looks like we were due here during the wild wild west days.

The food is great! I had the chicken piccata which was probably the best piccata I've had after trying it at maybe 4-5 restaurants. The ribs looked like the real deal and the burger was huge.

Puzzle update

This has turned out to be really fun and really addicting....

For my birthday, one of the things Sophy got me was a puzzle of New York....the purpose was for us to work on it and frame it for my new apartment....so today began, a long, long process, but its so fun!
