Another decision

Tomorrow I decide if I buy next month's bus pass which I've been doing since June, but I still can't decide if I like it or not. To help with the deciding process, here are two pictures pulled from earlier blog posts. My bus ride in the morning and my alternative mode of transportation. The Bus: I could bore you with the details, but all in all, I save about $127.20 a month taking the bus, used to be more but gas prices have dropped a bit. So what do I get on the bus? Well, I get to hang out with all these cool people you see in the picture, watch people sneak onto the bus through the back door, watch high school kids tag up the windows, see drugs being offered, it's really quite a zoo in there. My car: I like driving and for $127.20 a month, I get an extra 25 minutes of sleep everyday. Thanks for the input!

One year

It's a great feeling when I fill up my tank and then jump right onto the freeway, cause my mileage jumps to an average of 27.5 mpg!, which is well off the average of 15 mpg I get when I drive in LA.

Also, October 13 will mark the one year anniversary of my car purchase! My mileage is at about 10,900 miles so I'm at as nice pace. Wow, one year...

Go L.A.!

Haven't updated on anything in a while, but here's what I did tonight after grabbing some dinner...

Watched the Los Angeles Sparks beat the Seatle Storm to move onto the WNBA Western Conference Finals... Trying to decide if I should get tickets for this round or cross my fingers in hopes of them making the WNBA Finals...suggestions?

After that, I watched the Dodgers have a monstrous 6 run first inning in a game they eventually won 10-1...with the Arizona Diamondbacks losing tonight, that means any combination of 3 Dodger wins or 3 Arizona losses, and the Dodgers will move into the playoffs!

Let's go LA!




Near the end of the night, I finished my book on the life of a rookie year LAPD officer in south central LA. Great book! Don't have a great book report to give, but wow, very eye opening...


To top off the night, watching a new episode of "The Shield" to increase my knowledge of cops and gangs lol

If you didn't know, I really enjoy learning about gangs in los angeles, particularly because some of these books paint an image of LA that not all of us, if any at all, have ever seen. The stuff that goes on is unbelievable...

Not only am I interested in gangs in south central LA, but I even subscribe to Los Angeles magazine haha...this month's issue explained to me (after years of wondering) what that ranch is behind wood ranch bbq at the grove.

Went to this great Russian food place called Traktir...

Food was greeeeeat, and they gave the 7 of us complimentary shots of vodka (cranberry, lemon, and raspberry), and my other roommate had a shot of horseradish vodka...then after dinner, I was convinced to try a shot of green pepper vodka, interesting to say the least

Life is good...

when I can go to the driving ramge at 10:30 PM...not only are they open, but tomorrow is also my Friday off!

In palmdale, all we do is go out to eat...had dinner at Chili's with mark and my friend steph who I've known since I was like 5, her mom and my mom are like this *crosses fingers*

What a discount

I think the last gas picture I took was when it cost me like $85 to fill up my tank...well, here's about a month later and I save almost $20!
