Glee Live
About 4 hours before the start time, we began looking online for tickets to Glee Live at Gibson Amphitheatre. Some time into our search, we found a deal on craigslist and got pretty decent tickets for about 60% off face value!
LXD, Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, opened the show, and I gotta say I was pretty impressed.
But then, the Glee cast came out and put on a stunning performance...Every cast member seemed to perform and sound even better live than they do on the tv show. Great concert! There are two performances left tomorrow, one at 2 PM and one at 8 PM i believe, so if you read this blog before those times, find your way to some tickets and go!!!

Gnocchi Experiment
Having some potatoes left from the other day, I decided to try making gnocchi....
The first part, relatively easy, was to heat up some potatoes, take the insides and mash it with an egg, salt, pepper, and top it with some flour....Then you roll it up and create the little pieces of gnocchi....as you can see, some came out nicer than others haha....
My first try, I used Giada's Thyme Butter recipe and melted some butter with thyme and dropped the gnocchi in some boiling water. But I made a BIG MISTAKE! I left the gnocchi in too long and the result is this clumped up mashed potato type gnocchi haha....Oh well, the sauce was kinda gross anyway...
My second try, I decided to cut up some leftover Italian Sausage from the freezer, fried it, and added some Italian Style diced tomatoes from a can. I boiled the gnocchi for just the right amount of time, and added it to my sauce, and it turned out perfect!

Cheesecake Factory Happy Hour
I wouldn't typically post about something as generic as Cheesecake Factory, but during Happy Hour (mon-fri, 4-6) they have select appetizers for only $5!
Granted, lots of places give cheap happy hour appetizers, but usually they're different versions of the actual appetizer or a smaller portion.....as u can see, these Buffalo Blasts, which are on the regular menu, are just as big as the normal portion!....and for only $5! Okay that's all

Bridge to Nowhere
Sophy signed up for bungee jumping, but the only way to get to the bungee point was by taking a 10 mile (round trip) hike. It was pretty tough in terms of terrain, easy in terms of elevation, fun in terms of water encounters, but also little hot haha.
But as always, my favorite part is crossing of any creeks/rivers, and this hike had 8 crossings just going one way! A couple of em were all the way up to my waist!

Willis Tower
....formerly known as Sears Tower...
Unfortunately, there was fog everywhere today, and visibility was 0.
But, we did go up 103 stories, and they have 4 see through observation boxes....when there's no fog, you can look straight down to the ground....but when we looked down, all we could see was fog

Lake Michigan
So cold on the lake, I can barely feel my fingers! Haha.....
Apparently the Lake is two feet higher than the Chicago River, so we went into a "lock", gates closed behind us, water flowed in, and the boat got higher....

Magnificent Mile
The high end shopping area of Downtown Chicago....
Also saw the Hershey's store, the Chicago Tribune building, The Drake Hotel (like in the movie My Best Friend's Wedding lol), the weird tower looking thing is the old Chicago Water Works and pumping station, apparently some of the few structures that survived the Great Fire of 1871....

Chicago's Deep Dish Pizza
Went to Pizzeria Uno (opened in 1943), apparently the creator of the deep dish pizza...
I gotta say their deep dish was not like anything I've had, the crust is like that of a real pie.....
I like it better than any other deep dish I've had before, but I'm still a fan of New York thin crust pizza
